First Spectroscopic Measurements on the COMPASS Tokamak
نویسندگان
چکیده
Spectroscopic measurements were performed on the re-installed COMPASS tokamak during the first experiments. The impurity survey spectrometer HR 2000+ was used for registration of the most intense spectral lines in the 457–663nm visible range integrated over the discharge duration. The temporal evolution of integral visible light, Hα and hard X-rays intensities are measured by a photomultipliers. An attempt to estimate the ion temperature from Doppler broadening of selected spectral lines is described.

Calculation of edge ion temperature and poloidal rotation velocity from carbon III triplet measurements on the COMPASS tokamak
Atomic spectroscopy can provide valuable information about fusion plasma. This is possible due to the fact that properties of radiated photons are governed by ion and electron velocity distributions and densities, electromagnetic fi elds, and ion species present in a plasma. Specifi cally, it can be used to calculate ion temperature and ion fl ow along magnetic fl ux surfaces in tokamaks called...
متن کاملMeasurements of Ion Temperature in the Edge Plasma of the COMPASS Tokamak
The ion temperature was estimated using measurements provided by optical system based on the two-grating spectrometer on the COMPASS tokamak. It was done by analysis of Doppler-broadened CIII spectral lines at about 465 nm. The ion temperature in the range of 30–35 eV was measured at the plasma edge in short low-current ohmic discharges.
متن کاملDesign of New Optical System for Visible Plasma Radiation Measurements at COMPASS Tokamak
The paper outlines main parameters and characteristics of the currently designed multichannel optical system for visible plasma radiation measurements on the COMPASS tokamak. It based on registration of visible light in large observation angle (~70-80o) for 35 lines of sights by means of detectors (photodiode or photomultiplier array) and spectrometer. System has resolution about 1cm in vertica...
متن کاملMagnetic Diagnostics for Start-up Phase of COMPASS
The COMPASS tokamak was successfully reinstalled in Prague after two and half years of intensive work. The first plasma shot was achieved on 9th December 2008. The work on the commissioning to the full performance has begun after this first shot. This paper presents results of magnetic diagnostics measurements for the first COMPASS shot and subsequent campaign. First attempts to plasma position...
متن کاملNew High Resolution Thomson Scattering System for the COMPASS Tokamak
The COMPASS tokamak is being re-installed at IPP Prague after its transfer from Culham, U.K. Within the innovation, new diagnostics will be constructed, including a High Resolution Thomson Scattering System measuring electron temperature (Te) and electron density (ne) profiles. Scientific programme of the COMPASS tokamak is focused on the pedestal studies, thus the main stress will be laid on t...
